Follow up to Bernos Photo Shoot!
The Second Bernos photo shoot was very much a success! Beshou, our resident photographer did an amazing job. The shots as you will see in the coming days look great. We went all out and went to a graffiti park!
The weather was not that bad. Although it was somewhat cold, it worked to our advantage. We had our accessories on; just the way you would wear a Bernos Tshirt in the in the winter.
For this, Bernos will like to thank all the models and people behind the scenes! First and foremost our talented photographer for her support of Bernos from day one. Continue reading ‘Bernos Photo Shoot-II’

Or let the lens speak for him. I first met Merhawi; actually I never met him. Merhawi is one of the countless people I have encountered online. Merhawi registered on Bernos about 6 months ago and posted his picture from the plane. It was a hit.
Merhawi gave me a call one day and asked if I could help design his blog. He actually doesn't speak much, he said he would let his picture talk. A month and a half later teqesa:lensopolis is launched!
One problem I see with Ethiopian bloggers is that they do not sustain for a long period of time. I have had to slowly erase some of the "Ethiopian Blogroll " links on the side bar. Even the most popular Ethiopian blog called aqumada (next to bernos) disappeared. Just because Yekolo Temari: Continue reading ‘teqesa:lensopolis’

There is nothing I lament more than a missed connection!
I am one of those people that can not fake it. I can not spend much time with people that I am not fond of. No, I am too blunt and too honest for that. If there is something on my mind, whoever is around me is going know.
As far as relationships, I am either crazy about her or I’m not really interested. Sure I might be attracted to a girl but that usually doesn’t lead me anywhere. These days since I have been single for a while, I try to be proactive and see where it goes. If the girl is nonchalant and nonaggressive about her feelings towards me, then I would get bored.
Call me guregna but I am incredibly confident. I feel that I have got a little something to offer. Excluding the usual hoopla; I think I am a person that sensitive to women’s needs. I am understanding, patient, attentive, romantic, and honest; so very honest. May I dare throw in a ‘sense of humor’ and ‘sharp’ I am a dreamboat! Continue reading ‘Missed Rendez-vous!’

I get asked if I am coming home for the Millennium from friends in Ethiopia and here. Someone in our Bernos family also asked. I had to cancel my trip because Sheraton is booked during my 3 weeks vacation there. 'Keld' aside, when I got pix of the Gotera Bypass Bridge (night view) plan last week, my initial reaction was ‘this can't be real?’
I was thinking may be a 'Nolawi' edited the picture he took during his ETA takeoff from DC over the picture he took while in Addis. I found out it was for real thru 'Gul'golla'. The search also led me to another millennium gift for Addis – the ten-story Intercontinental Hotel which will have 151 rooms and suites, a tenth-floor swimming pool, restaurants, disco, gyms, sauna and transparent elevators from where you can admire the korkoro meret lines down below.
Move over Sheraton!"
One more place for non-resident Abeshas to show off what they have accomplished or a resort where they can leave home without leaving home. Continue reading ‘Home for Millennium?’

I was twirling my angel haired pasta when my table mate asked if she was Abesha. I looked up and around the restaurant to see who was around. All the tables were empty except one with a dozen or so people.
They were all African American, and the father was introducing her as his daughter. It was indeed a family gathering. It seemed like a typical African American family. Continue reading ‘Mark of an Ethiopian!’
