I hope there are exactly ten people reading this, so that I am not cursed. Like most, I would scan through my forwards after forwards of emails like these one, and delete them! I am sure most of you do the same; nonetheless I still get these forwards – lots of them from well meaning friends.
I thought I should apologize in public for my friends. I am sorry for being your 'blessing blocker,' I am sorry for being your 'bad luck' and most of all, I am sorry for being your ‘big risk to your Microsoft and AOL growth fund email!’
Sometimes I get the same forwards over and over again that I start to look into them like the one from Oxfam about joining thousands of activists around the world to go to a Starbucks & ask the barista for a cup of Ethiopian coffee on Dec 16th. These activists would explain that they are doing it to show support for Ethiopia to trademark its coffee names & ask the baristas to communicate back to Starbucks headquarters. This may benefit Starbucks if, even a one tenth of these people are tempted by the coffee aroma and end up getting a tall, hazelnut, double-shot, soy latte!
It got me question why a charity organization is doing Green Peace's job. I researched Tim Fullerton who is the original sender of all these emails that I got from different friends in different locations. I found out the partnersship between Oxfam and Starbucks and now why the partnership seized. It got me to think about coffee brand patents, which led me to think about teff patents which directed me to Capitan Hook Awards.
What can I say, keep those forwards coming! I may not forward them, but at least I will be reacting … & maybe someday be proactive!

another one is when i got in touch to a long lost freind from ethiopia school days… through email.. although we hadnt talked in like 16 yrs… she thought we were close enough to send me the weirdest forwards.. all kinds from editorial comics to powerpoints comparing goerge W with a monkey.. once I got the MTV cribs in power point… it showed michael jacksons house click prince’s click madonna’s and then even yehunie belay’s house.. a hut in gondar… I was like doesnt she know I know the guy! mts… but her consistency was weird she would drop about 6 of them and dissapper for 3 weeks and then come back… ewedatakehu still…

I hate seeing Fwd: very funny must read or some nonsense like that by repeat offenders. Filters are the remedy to this madness. I have plenty of email addresses on the DOA setting if their message subject line reads fwd. My friends justify their annoying behavior by saying but you love comedy that’s why we send you jokes. Live comedy people, live as in L.I.V.E you know the one’s we go to after purchasing tickets yes live not virtual. Live damit! How about the broadcast emails where your email address is now ‘sold’ to anyone on the list? These people haven’t discovered Bcc either. Girl don’t get me started!

Quick recipe to stop chain letter.
1. Read the chain mail long enough to find the number of people you are obligated to send a copy.
2. Send the sender and only the sender of the message 2 times the required number of copies (preferably at different times of the day but the same day)
3. If this does not work send them a bottle of Te-be-el or to Amanuel hospital

Sometimes ‘get interesting or funny forwards but they are outnumbered ..two recent forwards particulary peeved me as they were jokes I saw years ago but now they have Ethiopian names & are being circulated again

For all those that claim to be anti-forward emails… stop complaining, I bet you have at one time or another done the same thing. If your well meaning friends thought of you and took the time out of their very busy, unsatisfying government jobs to share their wonderful and newfound information, then you needs to be grateful to them or else you wouldn’t have been informed. Yeah, I forward but only the “good jokes” and those nasty pictures of #$%@ – Yes, I’m a well-meaning friend with lots of time on hand, as it has become noticeable with my addiction to Bernos!
