Something that is fully developed; at least that is the definition according to Merriam & Webster.
When I pick fruits at the neighborhood grocery, I look for the once that are not fully developed but close to it because I want to take a bite when it’s ripe. The danger is that it could get too ripe to be edible.
I have often wondered what the age of a fully ripe human is; I am thinking that it applies to everything. Obviously the perfectly ripe age for humans is longer that for dogs and shorter than for turtles.
Lets assume 25 to 40 is the prime age for humans…
More and more there is prevalence in society at least for females that older is better physically & mentally than the previous decades. Words like Cougar and MILF are thrown around and I find myself finding the women in the TV shows like Desperate Housewives & Cougars sexier than Hugh Heffner’s 8 wives or so in the Girls Next Door.
I read recently that MILF porn is gaining more popularity that it’s considered a fetish no more; its mainstream. Don’t judge me, I read it on GQ magazine.
I tend to agree, in my personal experience too. Although my experience with 35 plus women is very limited, I have wanted one for a while now. No doubt a divorced single mom is much more interesting, than a 21 year old college girl; as a matter of fact 35 year old’s are better in every area, yes including physically.
They just look more sexual, more female and comfortable. I know that a blanket statement like these are not always true and you guys hate generalizations, but at least to me these virtues apply to society somewhat, where I am around.
Obviously, there are negative things as well. I was watching Superbowl commercial in which, they basically insulted girlfriends and wives everywhere.
I am not an idiot, I know I have to compromise when I finally start living together with a significant other. But I just can’t imagine it being this terrible for every man. And so I am wondering at what age are they the most demanding?

The Superbowl ads were full of misogyny (more so that in previous years I feel) Even being a part of their target demographic my buds and I were still taken aback.
There’s been this commonly held belief that men tend to look more masculine and handsome with age (to an extent of course) and everything was pretty much downhill for women. Bout time there was some equity there.
Btw, it’s my belief that most if not all guys have tried to go after an older women at one point or another.

It think it is because he (Nolawi) is mature enough to know that the girls in their 20s are confused and don’t know what they want. He may not want to deal with all the drama and game playing.
Most 20s have so many things to deal with, life, school etc. We don’t know what we want in relationships. As we get older we can become a better person based on the experiences we have both good or bad.
The older we get, we become independent with a sense of freedom and we learn how to deal with relationship and love. We learn how to love and appreciate others.
I think it’s these things that will attract a man to an older woman.
Know what you don’t want, drama, games, hard to get attitude etc.

I think Nolawi, we become more demanding when we get older. We know who we really are, and what we really want, and we become more defined. I think. Dating younger guys is fun too. I have been very against it until recently…Oh boy was I wrong…So much less baggage…
I agree with totit… I have become more demanding in my thirties but I think not in the way you meant. I know what I want in a relationship, be it sexually, mentally, etc and I am not afraid to ask (demand if you will) for it. At the same time I also give more and am less selfish than I was.

I feel this is only abesha diaspora issue because I also hear abesha women in their mid 30s until 40 complaining of their confusion. I rarely hear abeshas in Ethiopia talking about confusion. I am now 27 and I feel like I just woke up from deep confusion coma only few months ago.

It reminds me of my confusion state back in my early 20s in which I thought I can find men that I saw in hollywood romance films like Titanic or The Notebook.
Let me break it down to you women from both shows are fake. Why? the desparate Housewives are mostly middle aged women with so much botox like a robot with no facial expressions.
The Girls next door women are plastic like barbie with so much plastic surgery.
On both shows there are make up artists airbrushing their faces.. Do you think a regular mid 30s single mother will have all the plastic surgery and personal make up artist by her side??

The cougar thing I feel is hollywood hype. The women can afford plastic surgery and have money to have younger men. I don’t think in main street there are too many cougars.
How about abesha culture do you think it will allow cougars? this guy did not tell me his age he was so wise and smart and i admired him so much I always talked with him he gave me good advice all the time. I ended up loving him. But then I found out he was only 21. He did not mind I was older but I just couldn’t cross the age from my mind I felt like his mother even if I was only 6 yrs older.

I believe youth is transitory and vibrancy does not diminish with age .It is what you make of it .Attaching a negative connotation to aging is purely “western ” or agul silitane .Our ethiopian culture reveres old-ER people .You can hear one repeatedly saying “edme tsega new ” because the alternative is being dead .
i have met 35 year old women who think like 13 and 13 year olds who think like 35 so it is all up there .Generally speaking people who did not do what they were supposed to be doing during their 20′s (because of stupidity or lack of oppertunity ) are seen trying to compensate and hold on to their 20′s.And no 35 is not the new 25 it is still 35 .i am 30 somethin and dealing with it gracefully .

I would say it’s not how old but how mature the person is. However, I often see how men (of course not all)in their late 30s act as if they were in their early 20s…as if trying to prove they are as young (at heart

nolawi, a very thoughtful article. Age should rightfully just be a number, 6 years ago I broke up a relationship with an older woman who was 8 years older, I was 22 and she was about to turn 31.
