Apathy: Comments

A Play in 2 Acts

act i:
this half-lit world

wake up!
technologies of alarms
take knowledges of my dreams
where i’d anchored
my rancor
and it flees … at dawn
surreal fabrics of comfort undone
unraveled at the seams
it seems i awake from marvels
not ever wanting to –
not ever having to need to
realize the real lies of my dreams:
the jumbled
symbols
rumble
free in psyches asleep
these sidekicks to my conscious
glitter like precious stones
that i never get to keep
because i wake up, wanting to sleep
to revisit peace
in the fleeting pieces that creep
unseen
and lodge themselves in the welcoming forts
that want to abort reality’s high beams
so i shut my eyes again
frayed eyelashes retangle
and drop the curtains on this half-lit world again

act ii:
palliate my dis-eases

i want
balm for the coarse textures of my anger
that lingers in acres of dermal universes –

verses that etch curses into polite senses
that tense up in gasps with citizens scorned.

i want
painkillers for migrainal banalities
engrained in the psyches of Hades’ boredom –

kindgoms come forth in hordes
and lords of the kingdom exit as chords unstruck.

i want
bandages for ages and ages of dosages of hate
of late i have slighted the wisdom of sages –

carrying my crosses then burning them for the losses
of masses that buckled under the forces that be.

i want
drips of absynthe for absences of my dreams
pensive beams spotlight gleams of an essence –

satiate my thirst to palliate my diseases
as breezes of hope seize hold of pessimistic creases.

…so you think sleep can be a source of perpetual bliss…kind of an antidote for this lethargic sentiment that you seem to have..?..is that the “want”..?.

I used to think that “Abstract” is only for drawings.

I don’t think we need two plays to show your apathy… regardless … thanks for sharing

u just palliated my reading itch toothpick!

the second act is off the hoook! actually, …it’s my favorite piece out of all ur works i’ve read so far, very close second being the ‘redux’ piece.

main reason being – i think it’s got soul

[I have an inkling u and I might not agree on that…tpick appears to be a painter with a word fetish who pleasures in the brainteaser riddle-poems hehe kidding! …Or maybe it’s something else… *mischievously pondering what*…possibly choice in sharing emotions?]

much like in music…or visual art….i think provoking/stimulating (redux ) or emoting (‘apathy ’…sort of a clash between title and impact, i feel!!) catch an audience like nothing else…

the interlude and untitled were more like abstract art to me… ‘migrane worthy’ mindboggling fun! Admittedly, the abstract pieces don’t compare in in the same way…they’re more like word-suduko with profound meanings depending on the interpretations. the enigmatic little quips are still there tho…
    esp in act I

    technologies of alarms
    take knowledges
of my dreams where i’d anchored
    my rancor

and I love these two lines. deep:

    kindgoms come forth in hordes
and lords of the kingdom exit as chords unstruck

interesting how u always use christian metaphors…
favorite aspect of ur style…it’s always like walking into ur brain when reading these poems hmmm…what’s that weirdo blockflunker movie jLo acted in where she walks in ppl’s brains minamin?

the first act is on a different plane… it’s like I want u to read it out loud, to perform it…it’s like a spoken word piece…[kinda cos of the repeated ideas]. its aesthetically on point…tho a tad bit chiffon-like…tho that gives it a different tint..an interesting glimmer in the light…

    two other faves:

verses that etch curses into polite senses
that tense up in gasps with citizens scorned

    Amen brother!

    keep keeping it all up.

  6. 6 DNA

sounds like Saul Williams poetry. Wordplay is on point.
