On December 13 we announced that we were running a raffle to be entered to win $100 American Express Gift Card! We had a large number of people order Tshirts from Bernos. A couple of orders from Europe; many from Canada; and a whole lot US, Seventeen different states to be exact. One from Fargo North Dakota; Ya for Bernos being represented in the Dakota’s!
Bernos would like to thank all those who bought from us online. Shopping online is safe and fast. Thus many in North America are using online shops as primary means of sopping. 2006 brought online sales to break the 100 billion mark for the first time in history. Estimated increase of almost 500% over five years.
I myself do most of my shopping online. I, during the month of December bought Abyssinie Swing: A Pictorial History of Modern Ethiopian Music and Journey to Lasta which I had never seen before, although I was very much familiar with the Lasta Sound music. I had met Tsegaye in LA this past summer and I told him that I knew the music but never seen the film. He was surprised because most people only recognized him only through the film and never realize that there is an actual band behind it. Great Music, great film and great book; which can all be bought online!

It’s funny that Ethiopians are everywhere in the world. One of my friends sent me an email from South Korea after she moved there to teach English, and she told me that she ran into an Ethiopian in a bar and said ‘Woy gud ezim Ethipiawie yegegnal!’ Needless to say Emebet from were ever you are located congratulations!
Bernos crew would also like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas. Enkuan Abro Aderesen, and hopefully we will be around for many more. We can’t survive without our customers and we are thankful for those who have made the leap from freegrazer to customer. One thing we noticed in December was the number of repeat customers we had. Those truly wonderful people that have and are continually supporting us should be proof that Bernos provides great Tshirts that people have come back for more.
Last but not least, the Bernos Press will be up January 17th at 1:30 pm. The press is an addition to the Blog in which users can discuss their own topics. The content will be in consensus with the Blog and the Bernos Theme. The top fifteen contributors during the month of January will also receive prizes. Among them, if you guys have ever heard of Blen Art Show as we have talked about it before, the Blen Catalog. Ephrem from Blengrafix was generous enough to give Bernos the last fifteen copies of the catalog. You can view the catalog; feature an article and artwork from Bernos’s own Ethio Jazz and Beshou respectively, via PDF online!
Ethio Jazz will be going to Ethiopia on Wednesday. We wish him a safe and fruitful trip. We have asked him to bring a couple of songs for us to podcasts which we weren't able to get a digital or a cassette copy in the US.

Yeah, Nolawi. There’s actually a movie called ‘Ye-neQezech Hiwot’. I think it’s one of the first movies. I saw it when I was quite young, but it was a very moving movie.
Wudnesh – the instrumental for tha song (Sintun asalefkut, sintun asebkut…liben betizeta wediya eyelakut…) I have says, “Tizitaye”. So I’m guessing that’s the actual title to the song.

I got the T-shirts about two weeks ago, and I had no idea, how soft and confortable the T-shirts are. I have worn the Bikila one atleast 2 times already, and everyone is asking where I got it. I say I am not telling! The green Merkato, now that is an amazing concept and color.
I love bernos, bernos tees, and most of all I love Ethiopia and all Ethiopians.

Many really smart people told me personally that Ethiopians will not buy online, it was a waste of time to try to sell online to Ethiopians….
For the first six months I had doubts for how long we will continue to try to sell… I am finally believing that Bernos could be sustained for another year…with the support of people like you ofcource
we believe in the products, mind you… when people see the shirts they ask where to get it… the whole problem is that they want to buy in person… people are not sure about size and quality till they see it in person.. and then they will buy! anyways we are greatful people like our products and service… and Ethiopians will buy online…

El 1/10/13 pasa el técnico y dice que el tambor de la lavadora se ha de cambiar y solicitan el recambio.
